Creating a PLU Item (Type 2)

Creating PLU Items

  1. Input barcode: 2 - XXXXX - XXXXX
    1. The initial '2' will always be a two - this will tell the Point of Sale it's a weighted item
    2. The first set of 5 'X's is for your PLU number. This should always be a total of 5 digits. If you have a PLU of '1' it should '00001'. 
    3. The second set of 'X's will ALWAYS be zeros. This should be a total of 5 digits all being zeros.
  2. Input all other basic information such as name, prices, and fineline.
    1. Pricing method should be number 8 for any items that are weighted on the deli scales, if the item is a fixed price you can leave it as price method 1.
  3. Create the item - this will allow you to see all the other fields that we should update!
  4. Input PLU into the field below, this will be either Code 1, Code 2, or Code 3. 
    1. This will allow for easy search when you want to find this item later.
NotesThese fields can be updated by TPOSN to have a label of PLU
      5. Update Deli-Scale information under the General Tab within the Product Manager
                  a. UOM: "LB" = Weighted "EA" = Fixed Priced/Each
                  b. Shelf Life is in days
